Think about when you started questioning your feelings. Feelings don’t change overnight. It has probably taken you a while to fall in love and establish a passionate relationship with your partner. Give yourself enough time to interpret your feelings, as you can irreparably damage your relationship if you act too quickly. Please don’t feel guilty by giving yourself some time to unravel all your emotions, and don’t try to rush to figure it all out.

Consider what else was going on when you started questioning your feelings. Have other factors changed in your life? Perhaps you have created a new job and are constantly exhausted. Maybe family problems are putting a strain on the relationship. How do you know if you love someone? Make sure you recognize if your apathy or confusion about the connection stems from life’s natural ups and downs rather than feelings towards your partner.

2 Evaluate your actions towards your partner. Consider things like your patience and physical attraction levels. Have you been snapping at them of irritation more often recently? Has your interest in physical intimacy diminished? Maybe you started to need more and more space away from them. These, of course, are all red flags. 1 Remember why the relationship ended. If your relationship has already ended and you are wondering if your love is still there, be sure to remember what caused the breakup. It’s easy to look back and romanticize an old relationship, but don’t overlook reality. Sometimes people give up too quickly without trying to solve their problems. However, sometimes there are fundamental problems that cannot be solved.

If the relationship ended because someone made a mistake, it’s essential to determine if you can truly forgive and forget. You cannot create a future with someone if you are stuck in the matters of the past.
Likewise, nothing will change about your relationship with no one. How do you know if you love someone? If you broke up with your partner because you don’t trust him, either he must have become trustworthy, or you must have trusted him. The problems of the past do not go away.

2 Consider the pros and cons of being with this person. Try to determine how your overall quality of life changes when you are with them and without them. If they become your # 1 priority and your job performance, family relationships, and self-care fall by the wayside, it may not be a healthy relationship. However, if you genuinely feel like a better person when you are with them, that’s something you don’t want to escape.

Write everything down so you can truly see if the positives outweigh the negatives. Don’t hold back!

Part 3 of 3: Act on your feelings How do you know if you love someone

1 Take some space away from this person. Take the time to do the things that make you happy and anything that helps you clear your head. If you haven’t spent much time away from your partner before, this is an excellent opportunity to get a taste of what life would be like without them. How do you know if you love someone? It can also help you relax and determine if the stress was leading you to question your relationship. Not only can a little alone time help you resolve your feelings without any pressure from your partner, but it will also give you time to regain your composure and decide precisely how to proceed.
